Naming Charlotte’s Neighborhoods

If youre like the majority of Charlotte residents, you may wonder how the neighborhood you live in got its moniker; while there are a few names that appear to have no known explanation (heres looking at YOU, Chantilly), a local historian and author has been able to explain most of the Citys hoods. Elizabeth, for example, was named for Elizabeth University, which was once located where Presbyterian Hospital now stands.
